MILTON, ON – March 03, 2023 – In 2022, Speedy Auto Guelph saw $180,000 raised through its sponsorship of charitable holiday events to support animals.
Photographs with Santa Claus were offered at Speedy Auto Guelph for the second year in a row as an exchange for a feasible donation of either cash or items from the Guelph Humane Society wish list. Attendees were able to have their Santa Claus holiday photographs taken with their families, friends, and pets.
“Our Speedy Auto Guelph location is a proud sponsor of the Guelph Humane Society,” Sharon Hammond, co-owner of Speedy Auto Guelph said. “During the month of December, the Speedy Auto Guelph shop held Photos with Santa to raise funds and awareness for the Humane Society and to help provide animals with food, medication, and care they need to find a loving home.” Participants were gifted coloring books and treats for the kids and pets.
The Speedy Auto Guelph shop was the lead sponsor of the Guelph Humane Society Gala which saw $180,000 raised. The Guelph Humane Society Gala attendees listened to a speech by Sharon and her husband, co-owners of Speedy Auto Guelph, where they spoke on why Speedy Auto Guelph chose the Humane Society to sponsor and the importance of their work in advocating for all animals.
“Through our initiatives, we became the main sponsors for the Guelph Humane Society Gala, and it was the first one back in more than two years,” Hammond said. “It warmed our hearts to experience such a positive outcome of this event despite years of social distancing.”
Additionally, Gala attendees were gifted “Speedy Bunnies”—stuffed bunnies with Speedy shirts, and Speedy Auto Guelph “swag” bags.
“Speedy Auto Guelph does an outstanding job in supporting the Guelph community and the Guelph Humane Society,” Daryll O’Keefe, senior vice president of Fix Network Canada, said. “It is important for our shops to give back to the communities in which they operate, and we are proud of their ongoing commitment and the creative, fun ways in which they support their neighbors.”
